Psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, and other people who practice talking therapy are becoming increasingly interested in the health and well-being benefits of yoga.

Professionals are becoming more interested in a strategy that puts the client at the center of the therapeutic process. They're gaining the confidence to incorporate methods from a variety of alternative treatments into their work and to tailor care to each patient's unique needs.

Yoga is one type of complementary therapy. Yoga techniques, such as breathing exercises and planned movements, that are taught in a safe and effective manner, can be used to treat a wide range of mental and physical problems.

Even though the body of evidence in support of such use is still growing, more and more research is focusing on how the therapeutic use of yoga practices in clinical settings can help with symptoms and general well-being.

Yoga has been shown to help with depressive illnesses, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, and psychosis.

Despite the fact that the scientific literature struggles to agree on the precise neurological foundations of many mental health problems, there is substantial evidence that poor mental health is associated with decreased activity in the Prefrontal Cortex (PFC) and lower executive function.

According to research into yoga asana practice, the attentive process of designing new movements in yoga engages the common connection between the Cerebellum and the Prefrontal Cortex.

This activation may make it easier to stop or start certain thinking patterns in therapy clients since it improves the connection between the shared pathway and the individual pathway.

Oxytocin is a neurotransmitter linked to improved social skills, and there is some evidence that yoga can help it leave your body faster. This could improve the therapeutic intervention's effectiveness.
